Data entry

Data entry is the process of inputting data into a computer system or database. This typically involves typing information into a form or spreadsheet, or using a specific software tool. Many industries perform it to capture and organize information, such as prospects, customer or product records or financial transactions.

Data entry can be performed manually, by a person typing the data into a computer, or it can be partially automated, using software tools or scripts. In some cases, it may involve verifying or cleaning the data. We do so to ensure that it is accurate and complete before it is entered into the system.

Quality data entry is important because it is the foundation and a common part of many business processes. It is often used to support decision-making, analysis, and reporting. Poor quality data entry can lead to errors, inconsistencies, and discrepancies in the data. This can have serious consequences for the accuracy and reliability of your company decision-making and effective business operations.

This process, together with data cleaning, data capturing and data labeling, are part of the process of data preparation. This phase takes place before the modeling phase and comprises 80% of an AI developer’s time.
